coincidences
Today, I was reading “Gun, Germs and Steel” by Jared Diamond. It is considered THE book of anthropology and cultural evolution. The cover of the novel is a painting of the Spaniard conquistador Pizarro seizing the Inca of Peru. Around 10 minutes later, the TV was on History International and the program on ancient spiritual sites was discussing how Spaniards like Pizarro conquered Peru (!!) but never found Machu Picchu...Then, most peculiar of all, the one person that I went to Machu Picchu with, the girl who has affected me so much in more ways than I know, the girl who hasn’t spoken to me in a year – emailed me back today. I cried. Life is so beautiful, I can’t stand it."There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidence."
