A friend and I were talking about our sudden case of 'senoritis.' It would have taken me one hour to get a bulk of my work done, but I didn't finish it until 2:00am. When talking to a professor of ours, she exclaimed that it was fine - we're naturally burnt out from four years of undergrad and looming pressure of graduation. While I do enjoy basking under the excuse of a factitious disease, I wonder if I would be procrastinating as much if a label didn't exist? Am I only allowing myself to be lazy in my work because there is now a justified condition to fall back on? Would I be more pro-active and focused if it wasn't socially acceptable for seniors to slack off? Like other shortcomings, do we use it to excuse our misguided and idle efforts instead of pushing to grow and overcome them?
I don't know - I'm just going to download another season of Scrubs and call it a night.
